[:es]Baterista, compositor, cantante Brian Blade nació el 25 de julio de 1970 en Shreveport, Louisiana. Desde los 9 y hasta los 13 años Brian tocó el violín en la orquesta de la escuela hasta seguir los pasos de su hermano mayor, Brady Blade Jr., quien tocaba en la Iglesia de Zion. Además de su propio grupo, él ha sido parte importante del Wayne Shorter Quartet con Danilo Pérez y John Patitucci y ha tocado junto a una gran variedad de otros artistas como Kenny Garret, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Daniel Landis, Norah Jones y Josua Redman. Brian compone música mestiza, sin fronteras y optimista.

[:en]Brian Blade is an American jazz drummer, composer, session musician, and singer-songwriter. Blade was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. The first music he experienced was gospel and songs of praise at the Zion Baptist Church. Inspired by his older brother, Brady Blade, Jr., who had been the drummer at Zion Baptist Church, Brian shifted his focus to the drums throughout middle and high school.
In 1997, Blade formed The Fellowship Band. While continuing to work with the Fellowship Band, Blade has been a member of Wayne Shorter’s quartet since 2000. He has recorded with Daniel Lanois, Joni Mitchell, Ellis Marsalis, Marianne Faithfull, Emmylou Harris, Billy Childs, Herbie Hancock, Dorothy Scott and Bob Dylan.
